HELP, I Can't Find my ID or CREDIT CARD:

What Should I Do?

Let's face it, on a good day, life in college is like organized chaos. Each day has its own unique challenges. Forget time management, mostly we're talkin' crisis management. Fall holidays, homecoming, semester breaks, religious holidays, spring break, summer vacations. Then, of course, there's the campus rhythms of mid-term exams, all-nighters, weekend parties, fraternity/sorority rush, athletic events, and an occasional romantic interlude. And, last but not least, the academic climax of FINALS. Well, let's not go THERE! The mere mention of the word can lead to anxiety attacks and that's not our goal. Rather, the objective is to reduce the stress in your hectic life. Indeed, life in college can very easily get out of control and "things" have a way of simply disappearing-- temporarily or permanently. So, don't agonize over the possibility. Prepare for it! Semper Fi!

With this goal in mind, the module is divided into two sections. Part One is for those stressed out over the disappearance of their credit cards. This section provides the toll free telephone numbers of the major credit card companies AND lists the information necessary for canceling your credit cards [Table 1]. It then explains your financial responsibility in case of fraudulent charges. Credit, debit, and check cashing cards are discussed individually [Table 2].

Part Two reviews methods of recording your important financial information including electronic mail storage options [Table 3]. In order to protect your financial account information from potential fraudulent use, simple encryption procedures are explained. Lastly, suggestions are offered to prepare against future theft or fraudulent use of your credit cards.
